Чхусок отмечается в 15-й день 8-го лунного месяца. Но если говорить более точно, то Чхусок длится три дня — первый и третий день фестиваля проходят за сборами и в дороге. Кульминацией праздника является средний день — 15-й день 8-го лунного месяца.
