Portrayed through these two songs, the duality of separation makes frustration with exhaustible pleasures accessible to those who may not relate to the tedium of fame. Amidst bemoaning these exhaustible pleasures, there are a few moments of mindful reprieve. It searches beyond this exhaustion described in the other songs, toying with the idea that there is perhaps, somewhere, inexhaustible love.

And I overheard him playing the riff and got really excited, and then convinced Brad to pursue it as a song. I was wondering if there was a way to create an alternative song with a similar kind of energy, marrying that with a Byrds or a Creedence Clearwater Revival stylistic color. We recorded it in one day and brought it into the studio.
The string sections were obviously a big part of this record. Did you guys write the string arrangements? We did. Nick Bockrath did the majority of the string arrangements. A lot of them were substitutes for stuff that we took out, so around the same melodically. And then me and Matt would come in and reorder some parts or add something in. But for the most part Nick wrote a lot of the string arrangements.
I know some of the takes were recorded at the Ryman in Nashville.
Opening with a spacey intro which quickly descends into a hard rock drum rhythm. The track calls up memories of The Jam and The Clash with Schultz spitting out his staccato vocals, an urgency to the song in terms of tempo. We hit the ground running, left with no doubt as to the pain Schultz is feeling. The deeply personal nature of the album confronts us in this song, which sees Schultz finding difficulty in combining fame with his private life.
We just kinda threw a bunch of ideas into a hat and started working them out, and kept the ones that came out the best. Was it liberating to record outside of a studio?
