We finally have a dark theme in Revit and it does very much seem worth the wait. It has several options to really customize it. To turn it on, you will need to navigate to the File tab in the upper right and then select the Options button. There is a new tab in this property box named Colors. In this tab, you will be able to set Dark Theme or Light Theme with the dropdown. The rest of the colors can be customized in each theme using RGB colors.

New Features Autodesk Revit 2024
Solar enhancements When running a solar study, the sun settings are now presented on the ribbon, as shown below. Clicking the Sun Settings button opens the traditional Sun Settings dialog with the same settings. In addition to project location and true north being set, the Sun Settings define where the sun is within Enscape. New visual style — Textures Revit has a new view style called Textures, which is a cross between shaded and realistic similar to the view style in SketchUp. It shows the appearance asset texture but without global lighting, so the materials are a consistent color on all surfaces and at all angles. It is possible to have ambient and sun shadows on in this mode, as shown in the example below ambient shadows are on. Previously, the only way to see the texture was to turn on Realistic, which is way too slow, and that is what we have Enscape for! The site tools represent the most significant change for architects!
We now have a toposolid command rather than a toposurface. As the name change implies, the ground is now represented by solid geometry rather than a 2D surface. Missing from the ribbon below is the Building Pad command. Instead, users will now create an in-place mass element that can have sloped edges or define a tunnel, and then use the Cut Geometry tool against it and the toposolid. One great thing about this for Enscape users is that slabs and walls must be cut from the toposolid. This means that there will never be grass inside the building coming through a floor slab or coming through a sidewalk again in Enscape. There are also opportunities to sweep profiles along the surface to create curbs, for example.
Here is an in-place mass with a sloped edge.

Revit 2024 lets you apply revisions to multiple sheets simultaneously, saving you time and effort on large projects. This feature is especially helpful for: Consistent Revisions: Ensure all relevant sheets reflect the same changes instantly. Reduced Errors: Minimize the risk of missing revisions on individual sheets.
The redesigned interface features: Cleaner Layout: Enjoy a streamlined and organized view of elements within your project. Enhanced Search: Find elements quickly and easily with improved search functionality. Height in Scope Box: Precision Made Easy Setting element heights just got a whole lot faster and more precise with the new height parameter in the scope box.
Since there is no building pad tool, Autodesk recommends that an in-place mass set to cut the toposolid be created, as shown in Figure 27. This provides a lot more options, like tunnels and sloped edges. The biggest challenge is that the workflow is not as intuitive for the average Revit user, in my opinion. Figure 27.
The suggested replacement for the building pad tool is an in-place mass void. Sub-regions are automatically converted to sub-divisions. Figure 28 shows the various type settings for this new element. Notice two things.
First, the toposolid is fundamentally based on the floor element. Second, the contour settings are now set per object type rather than globally. Figure 28. Toposolid properties.
Knowing that the element is essentially an enhanced floor element, note that apply materials is a little odd. Then I had to paint a grass material on the surface. The tricky part with painting is that the surface is made up of several facets and required several picks to paint the entire surface. Toposolid — Creation Workflow A toposolid is created similar to a floor element.
You start by sketching the perimeter of the ground to be defined and then finish the creation mode. Next, you select the toposurface and use the Add Points option on the ribbon, adjusting the offset value also on the ribbon. Roads and walkways are created using the Sub-Divide tool found on the ribbon when a toposolid is selected. This is similar to the sub-region tool where an enclosed area is defined within the larger toposolid perimeter.
The result is a solid extrusion which conforms to the ground and can be adjusted vertically. However, the sub-divide height cannot be negative. The last image in this section shows how a mass void can create a tunnel in the toposolid. This was not possible with a toposurface.

Shared Coordinates While there is nothing new with shared coordinates, I wanted to share a link to my YouTube series on the topic Shared Coordinates in Revit that is easy to understand and covers many of the questions that often come up.
This workflow will be the same in Revit 2024, even when using the new toposolid element. This workflow also works on a project hosted in BIM 360. Figure 32. The shared coordinates workflow.
Cut Geometry Enhancement With the advent of the toposolid, there have been enhancements to what kind of elements can be used to cut other elements. Because the toposolid is a solid, Revit does not know that other elements should automatically cut it. If you have foundation walls going below grade, for example, you now have to use the Cut tool and select the wall and the toposolid to get the correct graphic results in a section. Pattern Alignment The Align tool now has an option to apply the alignment to the entire surface.
In the example below, the surface has sub-elements applied to slope portions of the surface. This can result in the surface pattern not aligned across the entire floor element. This new feature helps with the new alignment, whereas earlier, it only allowed for the selected face option. Figure 33.

That means you can create fun site elements such as lakes without using floors.
When selecting a toposurface, use Generate Toposolid to convert to the new tool. To be safe, you can keep it in the archives. There are a few quirks here. When generating a toposolid, building pads are ignored completely. Also, subregions will be converted into subdivisions. In Revit 2024: Subregions has been replaced by Sub-Divide. The base idea is the same: draw boundaries over the toposolid. Similarly to sub-regions, you can extend the boundaries beyond the limit of the toposolid without receiving a warning.
Sub-Divisions are placed on top of the toposolid. You can then pick a material and set a thickness in the instance properties. Sub-Division have a thickness instance parameter. There is another parameter called Inherit Contours. It allows you to decide if you want to see the contours on the subdivision or not. In Revit 2024: Building pads are gone. Instead, Autodesk recommends using the Massing tool to create void geometry. These tools are more complex and potentially more confusing than building pads, but they allow you to create more complex shapes.
In this example, we create a void shape for a parking driveway. You could also use the model in-place tool, but uh... Overall, this is probably for the best...

Если вид размещён на листе, то можно нажать по нему правой кнопкой мыши в диспетчере и выбрать команду «Открыть лист» — Revit откроет лист с этим видом. А ещё можно перенести виды с листа на лист новая команда в контекстом меню по правому клику на виды в пределах листа в диспетчере. Менять цвета и особенно создавать материалы будет проще. Экспорт типа данных «Типоразмер семейства» Раньше приходилось руками прописывать имя параметра, тип данных OTHER и значение, а теперь поправили, и параметр сам корректно выгружается из редактора.
Архитектура Топотела вместо топоповерхностей Название говорит само за себя: вместо поверхности мятый лист бумаги появились тела нормальный рельеф. Но есть куча приятных мелочей, вроде вырезания полостей наконец-то! И посмотрите видео выше, там Ковылин показывает нюансы. Новый визуальный стиль Я уверен, что эта фишка нужна именно архитекторам, и могу точно сказать, что это удобно. Вадим любезно сделал сравнение вариантов графики: Новый стиль — в нижнем левом углу. Работа с солнцем Траектория солнца сейчас видна в перспективе. А ещё можно менять параметры солнца прямо с ленты. И считать в секундах, хотя непонятно, кому такая точность нужна.
Улучшения передачи данных из Revit в Twinmotion В меню Twinmotion добавлена функция «Автосинхронизация». Она позволяет автоматически обновлять модель в Twin, если в связанном виде Revit произошли изменения. В общем, почти как Enscape, только бесплатно… Конструкции Дополнительные параметры выравнивания по траектории для арматурных стержней произвольной формы Арматура произвольной формы — это следующие инструменты: Для данных стержней добавили немного функционала для расположения массивов по наклонным или криволинейным поверхностям. Improved site modeling Introduced Toposolids. Site design tools have been redesigned which makes it easier to model topography and create landscape project. Toposurface, Building Pad and Subregion tools are completely removed. Toposolids replaced Toposurface. As their names suggest, the main difference is that Toposolids are created as solid geometry and Toposurface as surfaces. Toposolids are very similar to shape-edited floors, or more precisely it combine features of floors and toposurfaces from previous versions of Revit. You can create new types of Toposolid and change types using Type Selector. Unlike Toposurface, Toposolid has a thickness and you can set different contour display for every toposolid type. Toposolids can host floor-based families. Toposolids are new system families with compound layers and type parameters. Add multiple layers and set materials. You can create toposolids from sketch or CAD imports, just select layers that contain points. You can use Split tool from the Modify tab to split a toposlid into multiple toposolids. You can use Graded Region tool on toposolids in Existing phase. Grading of surface points at toposolids works the same way as the shape editor at floors. Sub-Divide tool replaced Subregion tool. You can use Sub-Divide to apply different materials to a toposolid. Then you can set material and height thickness for each sub-division. Mass void replaced Building Pad tool. Create void mass and use the Cut tool to create hole in the Toposolid. This workflow is less comfortable than using Building Pad tool but it enables to create any shape for site excavations or tunnels. Cutting enabled for topography. You can cut a toposolid with other toposolids or with elements in other categories, including walls, floors, structural foundations, etc.
